چکیده

It was shown by Gaborit el al. [10] that a Euclidean self-dual code over GF (4) with the property that there is a codeword whose Lee weight ≡ 2 (mod 4) is of interest because of its connection to a binary singly-even self-dual code. Such a self-dual code over GF (4) is called Type I. The purpose of this paper is to classify all Type I codes of lengths up to 10 and extremal Type I codes of length 12, and to construct many new extremal Type I codes over GF (4) of ∗The present study was supported by Com2MaC-KOSEF, POSTECH BSRI research fund, and grant No. R01-2006-000-11176-0 from the Basic Research Program of the Korea Science & Engineering Foundation. †corresponding author, supported in part by a Project Completion Grant from the University of Louisville.

Optimal Linear Codes Over GF(7) and GF(11) with Dimension 3

Let $n_q(k,d)$ denote the smallest value of $n$ for which there exists a linear $[n,k,d]$-code over the Galois field $GF(q)$. An $[n,k,d]$-code whose length is equal to $n_q(k,d)$ is called {em optimal}. In this paper we present some matrix generators for the family of optimal $[n,3,d]$ codes over $GF(7)$ and $GF(11)$. Most of our given codes in $GF(7)$ are non-isomorphic with the codes pre...

Spectral Orbits and Peak-to-Average Power Ratio of Boolean Functions with Respect to the {I, H, N}n Transform

We enumerate the inequivalent self-dual additive codes over GF(4) of blocklength n, thereby extending the sequence A090899 in The On-Line Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences from n = 9 to n = 12. These codes have a well-known interpretation as quantum codes. They can also be represented by graphs, where a simple graph operation generates the orbits of equivalent codes. We highlight the regularity...

An Efficient Construction of Self-Dual Codes

We complete the building-up construction for self-dual codes by resolving the open cases over GF (q) with q ≡ 3 (mod 4), and over Zpm and Galois rings GR(p, r) with an odd prime p satisfying p ≡ 3 (mod 4) with r odd. We also extend the buildingup construction for self-dual codes to finite chain rings. Our building-up construction produces many new interesting self-dual codes. In particular, we ...

Nonstandard linear recurring sequence subgroups in finite fields and automorphisms of cyclic codes

Let q = pr be a prime power, and let f(x) = xm − σm−1x m−1 − · · · − σ1x− σ0 be an irreducible polynomial over the finite field GF(q) of size q. A zero ξ of f is called nonstandard (of degree m) over GF(q) if the recurrence relation um = σm−1um−1 + · · · + σ1u1 + σ0u0 with characteristic polynomial f can generate the powers of ξ in a nontrivial way, that is, with u0 = 1 and f(u1) 6= 0. In 2003,...

On the classification of all self-dual additive codes over GF(4) of length up to 12

We consider additive codes over GF(4) that are self-dual with respect to the Hermitian trace inner product. Such codes have a well-known interpretation as quantum codes and correspond to isotropic systems. It has also been shown that these codes can be represented as graphs, and that two codes are equivalent if and only if the corresponding graphs are equivalent with respect to local complement...
